An appointment is made to have a consultation with one of our designers, this is a free service with no obligation to order or purchase. We will talk you through your design options, guiding you with material knowledge such as metal practicalities and purpose suited stone options. Design concepts are discussed as well as indication of budget.
The Designer will then get back to you with a selection of design ideas drawn for you to consider. Followed by a secondary meeting to refine the chosen design, its details, costings and stone selection if required.
Filigree has a wide array of precious gems on-site and deals directly with multiple suppliers nationally and internationally from whom stones can be ordered from to view on a approval basis. This ensures you have an opportunity to see all the options available to make an informed and educated decision.
On confirmation of a design and stone selection a 40% deposit is required to action the jewellery being made. As the workshop is on-site, generally items are crafted to a certain stage at which point customers are encouraged to come in and view it.
Prior to setting stones and doing any final finishes or details clients come in to check they are happy with the progress of the jewellery. At this point they can discuss various final aspects of the design which could include height, width, profile and elements of finish. This ensures that the design meets the clients expectations. If the sizing is required for a perfect fit this is also checked at this stage, prior to setting any gems. The jewellery item is then set if it includes stones and finished in accordance to the customers design brief.
In most instances new jewellery made to order includes an independent valuation at no additional charge. On completion of the jewellery the balance owed is then required to be paid within 7 days unless other arrangements are agreed upon at the time of the deposit.
Filigree offers a Duty Free option for travel completed within 3 months of making a deposit or purchasing jewellery. This option is only available to customers travelling internationally out of New Zealand through Christchurch or Auckland Airport.
